Assistant Manager, Capability Development

You will assist with the development of dementia and mental health training programmes, in accordance with competency frameworks, to equip community care organisations and key stakeholders with knowledge and skills to support their clients with dementia and mental health needs.

 

The job scope includes

  • Assist with learning needs analysis for staff providing dementia and mental health care in community care organisations (CCOs)
    • Conduct regular research on available training programmes for the dementia and mental health sector, through desk-top research on relevant courses and engagement with training providers.
    • Engage CCOs to conduct training needs analysis for staff providing dementia and mental health care.
    • Conduct validation of proposed training curriculum with key stakeholders, including the CCOs, clinical experts and training providers. 

       

       

  • Support the development of training courseware and resources that are aligned to the dementia care and mental health competency frameworks.
    • Liaison with practitioners, clinical experts and training providers to collaborate on training approach and courseware development and refinement. 
    • Support the regular review and evaluation of training courses to ensure that listed courses have met their intended objectives and addressed the learning needs of community mental health service providers 
    • Work with appointed training providers ensure adequate supply to meet sector’s demand.
    • Assist with the development of new courseware and e-learning modules on specialised topics aligned to sector’s training needs
    • Design, implement and evaluate pilot capability development initiatives for community mental health programmes

 

  • Assist with the development of competency frameworks, supervision guidelines/ frameworks and training roadmaps for dementia and mental health 
    • Assist with the development/ updates to AIC dementia and mental health competency frameworks and assessment criteria
    • Support inter-agency collaborations with hospital-based & community-based Dementia care and Mental health teams and training providers on the adoption of National competency frameworks 
    • Engage and work across AIC divisions on the implementation of the Dementia Care/Mental health training roadmap for the community care sector
    • Research on existing requirements of clinical supervision and conduct focus group discussions with service providers

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related discipline, with preference for additional training qualifications such as ACTA/ACLP or DACE/DDLP
  • At least 3 years’ experience in healthcare or training administration
  • Prior experience in community care or mental health.
  • Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis and preparing research/ impact evaluation reports preferred.
  • Able to work well with groups from diverse backgrounds
  • Able to multi-task and possess strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • A self-starter with strong learning ability, who is resilient, adaptable and able to manage change and ambiguity
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
