Manager, Dementia (Service Planning & Development)

This role will lead the planning, development, and evaluation of innovative dementia care delivery models within the HMCD (Dementia) team to address emerging needs in the community care sector.

 

  • Conduct a comprehensive landscape screening to identify emerging needs and trends in dementia care through literature review, analysis of overseas strategies, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive innovation by developing and implementing new service delivery models tailored to the evolving requirements in dementia care.
  • Engage and partner with key stakeholders to explore collaborative opportunities that align with the Community Mental Health Division’s work-plan and the National Dementia Strategy.
  • Manage relationships with clinical experts and teams to gather clinical insights for policy review and service planning for Ministries, agencies, and other divisions.
  • Conceptualise and propose new dementia care services and initiatives that address identified gaps and complement divisional directives.
  • Develop detailed proposals for pilot dementia programmes, including securing appropriate funding sources for implementation.
  • Lead the evaluation of pilot service models, reviewing processes, outcomes, and cost-effectiveness to recommend scaling or improvements.
  • Oversee programme management for pilot dementia projects, including outreach efforts, capacity development, data collection and analysis, and exploring sustainability plans.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related discipline, with at least 8 years’ experience in healthcare or community care sectors and 2 years in managerial capacity.
  • Experience in service development, programme implementation and evaluation is essential.
  • Prior experience in Dementia care or geriatric areas is preferred.
  • Able to work well with groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to multi-task and possess strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • A self-starter with strong learning ability, who is resilient, adaptable and able to manage change and ambiguity.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong in proposal and report writing.
