Manager, Mental Health (Clinical Expert), Health Models & Capability Development
This role focuses on building mental health capability in the community care and mental health sector, including clinical content development for training such as training curriculum, mental health competency framework and also to develop new standardized and sustainable training resources. This is key to scaling up mental health capabilities of community care sector and expand the pool of staff who are equipped to support those with/at risk of mental health conditions and their caregivers
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the Mental Health competency framework implementation:
- Engage and work across divisions to develop the implementation plan for competency-based assessments for mental health training courses and lead training providers.
- Lead the team in engaging training providers in the pilot and evaluation of the competency-based assessments for mental health courses.
- Engage with project directors from hospital-based mental health teams on the adoption of the competency-based assessment for the various tiers of mental health training.
- Lead and represent AIC in providing inputs at the national interagency training and competency work committee on competency development.
2. Manage the development of standardised training roadmap and curriculum:
- Engage and develop across divisions on a standardised mental health training roadmap according to the national stepped care model.
- Lead the team and internal programme owners to adopt a standardised training needs analysis to facilitate identify training needs and gaps of CMH service providers of CREST and COMIT programmes.
3. Manage the development of training courseware and curriculum on mental health topics.
- Lead the team in conducting landscape review of unmet capability needs and identify specialised training opportunities.
- Design and develop new training courseware (in different modalities) to equip CMH partners with specialised knowledge and skills such as hoarding, suicide, engaging youth mental health.
- Engage the subject matters experts and set-up a training workgroup to collaborate on training courseware development.
- Develop the Train-the-Trainer model to step up training delivery.
Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree preferably in healthcare-related discipline, with a preference for mental health and training qualification.
- At least 8 years’ experience in healthcare or community care sectors with 2 years in managerial experience.
- Prior work experience in mental health is essential.
- Experience in capability development, programme implementation and/or programme management.
- Able to work well with groups from diverse backgrounds.
- Able to multi-task and possess strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
- A self-starter with strong learning ability, who is resilient, adaptable and able to manage change and ambiguity.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
