Manager, Planning & Development (Planning & Geragogy Guidelines)

This role focuses on strategic planning, collaboration with stakeholders, and effective execution of initiatives to advance senior learning and volunteerism. It emphasises the adoption and expansion of Geragogy Guidelines through capacity building, resource development, and workshops to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and achievement of key milestones.

 

  • Review the geragogy guidelines and oversee the development of practical tools and approaches, to simplify and embed geragogy guidelines into senior learning and relevant programmes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the procurement and logistics for physical and online geragogy workshops for trainers and participants.
  • Review and enhance asynchronous geragogy modules to improve content quality, uptake, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Organise Community of Practice sessions to facilitate the sharing of best practices and elevate the quality of training for seniors.
  • Collaborate with team across learning and cognitive domains and across divisions to optimise use of geragogy guidelines.
  • Oversee budget planning and resource utilisation for geragogy initiatives, ensuring alignment with KPIs and cost efficiency.
  • Undertake any additional duties or responsibilities, as well as adapt to changes in duties/ role as the division’s work evolves, to support divisional objectives and operations.

 

Job Requirements

  • A good bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably Gerontology-related.
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity, preferably in, senior training, educational or healthcare sectors.
  • Proven record in developing guidelines or involvement in pedagogy, training needs analysis and learning programme development.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities to drive strategic and operational outcomes.
  • Delivers high quality work with both a meticulous eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
  • A resilient team player with an adaptive, innovative, and collaborative mindset, able to thrive and adapt in a dynamic and evolving environment.
