The Singapore Translational Cancer Consortium (STCC) aims to strengthen the overall impact of cancer research and translation in Singapore by bringing together key basic, clinical and translational teams on joint platforms to actively establish and implement collaborative cancer programmes. STCC is part of the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation Singapore (CRIS) umbrella of research-related business entities.

 

Overview

 

We are on the lookout for a highly motivated Assistant Manager to become a pivotal member of our dynamic team at the Singapore Translational Cancer Consortium (STCC). STCC is a national program that seeks to transform cancer research in Singapore by harnessing & integrating the collective strengths of our academic medical centers, universities, and research institutes (e.g. A*STAR).

 

In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping Singapore’s cancer research infrastructure centered around a (globally unprecedented) national cancer database that consolidates clinical data from all healthcare clusters, tissue availability through a national tissue bank network and molecular research data. These components are meticulously linked to each other and integrated nationwide, forming the backbone of our data-driven projects.

 

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to nationally coordinated projects that seeks to use translational research & big-data analytics to enhance cancer healthcare delivery for improved patient outcomes for Singaporeans & beyond.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1.         Project Management:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of national healthcare projects from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure adherence to project milestones and deadlines.
  • Coordinate project and team meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting minutes.
  • Track project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Communicate project updates and status reports to project team members and stakeholders.
  • Interface with business development teams to identify project opportunities and support feasibility assessment.

 

2.         Data Management:

  • Manage healthcare data extraction, storage, and analysis activities in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Oversee data validation, cleaning, and harmonization processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other data management tools to support project activities.
  • Facilitate data transformation and preparation between systems to ensure seamless data integration.
  • Perform data analysis and generate reports to support decision-making and project evaluation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify data needs and requirements for healthcare projects.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security policies, including HIM-DM regulations.

 

3.         Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project team members, including clinicians, researchers, data analysts, and administrative staff, to achieve project objectives.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide support and assistance to other project managers and team members as needed.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work across different domains (biomedical research, data science, analytics)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze large data sets and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and data privacy standards, including HBRA, HTF, HIM-DM compliance.
  • Previous experience in project management and data management, preferably in a healthcare or research setting.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Trello, or Jira.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) and experience with grant management are desirable but not required.
