The Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS) brings together six national R&D, clinical translation and service programmes to advance clinical research and innovation for Singapore and establish important capabilities for a future-ready healthcare system. Job Description

 

STCC; a nationally coordinated consortium to synergise cancer research capabilities in Singapore, brings together unmatched basic, clinical, and translational talent in Singapore to create globally significant peaks of excellence in selected Asian cancers.

 STCC's five joint platforms – Cancer Clinical Trials and Investigational Medicine Units, Cancer Databases and Tissue Banks, Translational Research Integration and Support, Business Intelligence and Development, and Impact and Population Health – provide an enabling research and innovation environment driven to foster translational research and meaningful outcomes for society.

Through collaborative relationships with our partner institutions [comprising of National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), National University Hospital (NUH), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)],  and by capitalizing on the strengths of industry and academia, STCC is uniquely poised to develop initiatives that are aligned with Singapore's goals in value-based healthcare innovation and economic value creation.

STCC is a business unit of the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS), and is supported by the National Research Foundation, Singapore (NRF) and the Singapore Ministry of Health through the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Office, MOH Holdings Pte Ltd.

About the Role

The Business Intelligence and Development Executive will support STCC in achieving its goals of fostering strategic partnerships and advancing cancer research collaborations. The role will contribute to outreach strategies, assist in managing relationships with industry partners, and help ensure that STCC’s research initiatives align with industry needs and potential commercialization opportunities.

 

  1. Assist in Industry Engagement
    • Assist the team in building relationships with companies to understand their therapeutic platform, technology needs, business strategies, and R&D roadmaps.
    • Contribute to lead generation and prospecting management for industry targets and accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of potential partners.
    • Maintain STCC's engagement outreach needs by updating STCC presentation content and acting on feedbacks received to ensure improvement.

 

  1. Ecosystem Engagement
    • Assist in engaging with Singapore’s scientific and clinical units to understand their capabilities and facilitate industry connections.
    • Assist in preparing materials, proposals and supporting discussions for collaborations or partnerships.

 

  1. Business Intelligence and Analysis
    • Perform business intelligence gathering to identify industry trends and insights.
    • Analyse industry data to determine partnerships and collaborations potentials.

 

  1. Contract Negotiation and Management:
    • Support the negotiation and execution of contracts and collaboration agreements, ensuring that terms align with STCC’s goals and legal requirements.

 

  1. Event Development
    • Help plan, develop, and organize events to connect academic, clinical, and business communities.
    • Provide logistical and administrative support for team’s attendance at global scientific conferences for business development and engagement activities.

 

  1. Support for Business Development 
    • Provide administrative support for the formulation and implementation of industry engagement and development strategies.
    • Assist in tracking progress and compiling reports related to industry accounts, pipelines and leadership reports.

 

  1. Other Duties

 

    • Serve as the secretariat for key industry and STCC meetings, taking minutes, coordinating follow-up actions, and ensuring efficient communication among stakeholders.
    • Undertake additional ad hoc tasks as required to support team goals.

 

Job Requirements

  1. Educational Background
    • Diploma in Life Sciences or a related field (e.g. public sciences, healthcare management)

 

  1. Experience
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience in healthcare, clinical research settings, or science-business roles is preferred but not mandatory.

 

  1. Skills and Knowledge
    • Basic understanding of clinical research, clinical trial operations, drug development process, as well as technological and business trends in sectors such as genomics, omics, informatics and data sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotech, and precision medicine.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Analytical skills to evaluate industry data and trends.
