The Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS) brings together six national R&D, clinical translation and service programmes to advance clinical research and innovation for Singapore and establish important capabilities for a future-ready healthcare system. NHIC
The National Health Innovation Centre Singapore (NHIC), is a nationally-appointed Innovation and Enterprise Office that works with Public Health Institutions across Singapore to identify and commercialise promising clinical innovations. We fund the translation and development of medical innovations from Singapore’s clinical sector, and provide strategic guidance and connection to industry partners, accelerating the pathway to impact in healthcare. NHIC programmes catalyse the translation of clinical innovations towards commercially viable products that benefit patients and healthcare.  Established since 2014, we have supported many projects and companies in the development and implementation of innovative medical technologies and services, improving the standard of healthcare in Singapore and beyond. NHIC is part of the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation Singapore (CRIS). 

 

 

What you will be working on

 

The Role: 

 

You would be involved in Innovation & Enterprise functions at NHIC in implementing strategic programs, track and report on programme performance, and medtech commercialisation. This will involve implementing schemes and processes to manage projects and talent with the aim of achieving commercial success. In the process, you will be expected to manage external partnerships with government, private and international partners. You will also be involved in supporting some administrative functions. 


On a day-to-day basis, you will provide project management support and guidance to project teams supported by NHIC’s innovation, development and adoption schemes. The goal is to facilitate the translation of research and innovation into commercial outcomes. You will support and manage assigned medtech projects and deliverables, coordinate and conduct project reviews and evaluation panel meetings, review and evaluate project proposals and invention disclosures. You will work closely with various local government grant agencies, private sector and international partners to bring these projects closer to market.


You will be involved in the creation and commercialisation of Intellectual Property (IP) in collaboration with hospital cluster innovation offices. This includes licensing support to the clinical institutions such as valuation and negotiation of licensing deals, and market analyses of selected technologies and IP in the medical device sector. You will be expected to establish partnerships with key stakeholders in the innovation, tech and venture community to accelerate go-to-market strategies for projects gearing towards spinning off and industry commercialisation.
 

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Bioengineering, Engineering or equivalent. Postdoctoral degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a field related to tech transfer, development, commercialisation and/or implementation of medical technologies from public to private sector. Exposure to development and/or implementation of medical devices such as diagnostics, digital tech, AI into primary and tertiary care would be advantageous.
  • Some exposure to managing partnerships with private sector preferred. Knowledge of medical device quality management and regulatory systems such as FDA 21 CFR part 820 and/or ISO 13485 advantageousExperience in programme, project and/or grant management beneficial.
  • Strong writing, thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. Candidates should be proactive, responsible and detailed in their work. They should also show strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Some marketing and event management exposure advantageous.
  • Candidates are expected to work independently as well as part of cross-functional teams.
