The Singapore Translational Cancer Consortium (STCC) aims to strengthen the overall impact of cancer research and translation in Singapore by bringing together key basic, clinical and translational teams on joint platforms to actively establish and implement collaborative cancer programmes. STCC is part of the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation Singapore (CRIS) umbrella of research-related business entities and is supported by the National Research Foundation, Singapore (NRF) and the Singapore Ministry of Health through the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Office, MOH Holdings Pte Ltd.


STCC; a nationally coordinated consortium to synergise cancer research capabilities in Singapore, brings together unmatched basic, clinical, and translational talent in Singapore to create globally significant peaks of excellence in selected Asian cancers.


STCC's five joint platforms – Cancer Clinical Trials and Investigational Medicine Units, Cancer Databases and Tissue Banks, Translational Research Integration and Support, Business Intelligence and Development, and Impact and Population Health – provide an enabling research and innovation environment driven to foster translational research and meaningful outcomes for society.


Through collaborative relationships with our partner institutions [comprising of National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), National University Hospital (NUH), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)],  and by capitalizing on the strengths of industry and academia, STCC is uniquely poised to develop initiatives that are aligned with Singapore's goals in value-based healthcare innovation and economic value creation.


About the Role


The Senior / Manager, Business Intelligence & Development will drive industry engagement and partnership development to support STCC’s strategic objectives. Working closely with clinical, research, and industry stakeholders, the role will identify collaboration opportunities, support business development activities, and facilitate initiatives that advance oncology research, clinical trials, and innovation partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:

 

Business Intelligence & Industry (Pharma/Biotech) Insights
•    Conduct market research on Pharma/Biotech companies, pipelines, and clinical development trends to assess potential impactful clinical and research partnerships with industry.
•    Track industry developments, oncology research activities, and emerging therapeutic areas.
•    Maintain and develop comprehensive BD intelligence dashboards, reports, and strategic insights for leadership review and implementation.
•    Support the identification of strategic opportunities aligned with the specific needs and interests of Singapore's oncology clinical research ecosystem.

 

Account Development, Management & Strategic Communications
•    Engage with companies in the oncology-related domain (encompassing therapeutics, diagnostics, and next-generation data technology solutions) to understand their business strategy, product and service offerings, technological needs, and

 

R&D roadmap.
•    Support the BD team in identifying, qualifying, and building target account lists for new partnership opportunities aligned with STCC’s priority strategic interests and therapeutic areas.
•    Engage with STCC's clinical and research partners (including NCCS, NCIS, NUS CSI, and A*STAR) and the wider scientific/clinical community to understand and connect their capabilities with industry interests.
•    Serve as the primary STCC contact for a portfolio of established industry partners, overseeing the end-to-end process of account development, project contracting, negotiation, and execution.
•    Track and manage BD pipeline data (e.g., CRM updates, opportunity status and reporting) while preparing industry profiles, briefing materials, and proposal support documents.
•    Develop and support the communication strategies to ensure effective, integrated, and coordinated communication between STCC stakeholders and external partners to achieve STCC's long-term goals.

 

Clinical Trial Support (Feasibility)
•    Oversee and coordinate feasibility assessments with STCC’s clinical operations team for industry sponsored clinical trials.
•    Partner with clinical and operational teams to identify site capabilities, patient populations, and timelines.
•    Prepare and consolidate feasibility submissions and support the development of proposals in response to industry Request for Information (RFIs)/ Request for Proposals (RFPs).

 

Contracting, Deal Support & Project Setup
•    Support contract initiation and coordination, providing oversight on contract administration for STCC stakeholders with STCC’s legal office.
•    Structure deals and facilitate partnerships between industry and STCC to anchor innovative clinical trials in Singapore, R&D collaborations, co-development of therapeutics and diagnostics intellectual property
•    Engage STCC's internal and external stakeholders to coordinate resources and resolve roadblocks for successful set up of collaboration projects of STCC.
•    Assist in the preparation and review of contracts, and related documentation (non-legal drafting support).
•    Oversee contract status, timelines, and key milestones of the process.

 

Requirements


•    Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications in Oncology or related disciplines are an advantage.
•    4–6 years of relevant experience in healthcare, biomedical sciences, clinical research, business development, or technology commercialization.
•    Strong understanding of oncology research, clinical development, and the healthcare innovation ecosystem.
•    Proven ability to assess emerging technologies, identify strategic opportunities, and support partnership and business development activities.
•    Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
•    Self-driven, adaptable, and able to operate effectively in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and deliver results.
